Vishnuvardhan was born on 18 September, 1950. He was a popular actor and singer in the Indian state of Karnataka. In the Kannada film industry he was one of the most versatile, talented, stylish and popular actor. On 27 February 1975 at Kuchalamba Kalyana Mantapa in Bangalore he married to Kannada actress Bharati. He has one elder brother, four sisters, and two adopted daughters, Keerthi and Chandana.
In movies like- Seethyalla Savitri, Sahasa Simha, Jimmy Gallu he tried singing some songs. In 1972 his career was begun by him with a very small role in the national award winning film 'Vamshavruksha' which directed by Girish Karnad. In 2005 Bangalore University awarded honorary doctorate Vishnuvardhan.
