Generally, HRC is yellow “equals” sign on a blue background but has been changed their logo with pink sign on a red background. The change happened when the Supreme Court considers urging over the legitimacy of same-sex marriage this week. The rallies are happing around the country in objection of the Defense of Marriage Act (DOMA) and California’s Proposition 8, which are fundamentally about whether gay and lesbian Americans can enjoy the same freedoms and opportunities like everyone else.

Not only common people, but several well-known personality like George Takei (famous for his role on Star Trek), Lance Bass, (a member of boy band *NSYNC), Maryland Gov. a Democrat, and Fla. Rep. Debbie Wasserman Schultz, (chairwoman of the Democratic National Committee) have also changed their profile picture to support same sexual marriage. Reality actress, “Kim Kardashian”, also tweeted and instagrammed together with the red equal.
At present, there are 50% of Americans supporting gay marriage, while other 45% are still in opposition. Currently, in several states of American including Connecticut, Iowa, Maine, Maryland, New York, Washington, Massachusetts, New Hampshire, Vermont, and the District of Columbia, same-sexual marriage is official. But because of the defense of marriage Act, these couples unions are still not known by the federal government. However, this new time will come very soon, and all people will be able to marriage with whom they want.
