A star lacrosse player at the University of Virginia, Yeardley Love was found dead in an off-campus apartment on Monday, 3 May 2010, morning. She was 22 years old and her murder has shocked the tranquil town of Charlottesville. For murder of Yeardley Love, 22 years old, George Huguely, who is a senior UVA lacrosse player, has been charged. Baltimore County’s Yeardley Love had been a four-year member of the lacrosse and field hockey teams at Notre Dame Prep in Baltimore.
Yeardley Love and George Huguely were set to graduate this month and they had a romantic relationship at some point. A few hours later of her dead, George Huguely was accused in her death. U-Va. President John Casteen said, "This death moves us to deep anguish for the loss of a student of uncommon talent and promise." “There were no previous reports to police of violence between the U-Va. Seniors,” said by Tim Longo, Chief of Charlottesville Police.
At about 2:15 a.m. on Monday morning, police were called to Love's apartment. “They found Love dead in her bedroom with "obvious physical trauma," said by Longo. The chief refused to describe about injuries of Love but according to him, no weapon was involved in her murder. Longo said, “police have no other suspects in the case. Love and Huguely,” he added, "have had a romantic relationship, but the exact status of that at this time is part of our investigation."
Longo said, “Love was found by a roommate at their apartment about three blocks off campus in the 200 block of 14th Street NW.” he added, “Huguely was found at his nearby apartment, questioned and arrested by about 9 a.m.” currently Huguely is in Albemarle-Charlottesville Regional Jail. He was scheduled for a bond hearing Tuesday.
Her family was informed through a phone call and a spokesman said, “The family has no comment at this time.” Huguely's grandfather, George Huguely III, said: "He was a wonderful child, and he was going to graduate. Hopefully he will be graduating. That's all I can tell you, okay? I'm sorry."

Murder of Love is still under investigation and further details have yet to come out. Huguely has been under arrest and charged with first-degree murder.
